I'm game. My question is what do we do from here, and how do we (or I) go about it?

Ah, this sounds so familiar. It reminds me of a saying:

A prophet is not without honor, except in his native place and in his own house. Matthew: 13:57

When Ed comes up with ideas, well, "That's just crazy Ed speaking." But when someone from the outside says the very same thing -- they're freaking geniuses!

Trust me, Ed, I've lived through this at my old company. I've found that my life is easier on the outside, dealing with people who want to listen to me.

It's always an interesting challenge, but it's certainly nice to have a group of people that are hungry for information regarding new media. Sometimes it simply takes an outside voice to get people excited. Case in point: My employer was hesitant to dive into social channels until they were at at conference and saw Jay Berkowitz talk about new media. Suddenly, we're rolling with initiatives I've been trying to start for a while.
