The volume of data with web analytics packages can be both intimidating and burdensome for organizations. To get it right, I believe organizations need to dedicate time and resources to the effort.
* Resource dedication to pull and analyze data.
* Time dedication for the entire team to review the results, determine what it means, and then create a plan of action.

Another great piece, Ron.

I suspect that as the numbers get larger for a corporation's web site, there's also a failure to look at the path individual visitors take when navigating the site to learn what can be done to make them stay longer, become a subscriber, engage more, buy a product or whatever the goal of the site is. My point? Don't look at bounce rates- look at individual visitor patterns. Put yourself in their shoes, and try to figure out what can be done to lead them to the desired outcome.
