I’ve been a storyteller since as far back as I can remember. From the times when I gathered friends around my portable cassette recorder to perform audio dramas, to the times when I wrote and directed silent movies recorded on Super-8 Kodachrome film, I’ve always sought new ways to tell my stories. Unfortunately, I never had a cost-effective way to distribute them widely.
Fast forward to today and I now have everything that I’ve ever wanted. I can tell stories in text and distribute them through blogs. I can produce audio stories and distribute them through podcasts. I can distribute my video stories worldwide using free online services such as YouTube. And finally, I can interact with those who experience my stories through social media communities such as Facebook and Twitter.
Social media has enabled me to combine my passion for storytelling with 25 years of high-tech business experience to help companies tell their own stories, in their own voice, rather than relying on third parties to do so. The ultimate benefit for businesses is that at the end of the day, they’ll own their audiences instead of having to perpetually rent others.
In October 2012, I joined Epson America as their Manager of Social Media.
