About Ron
Ron Ploof’s passion for helping companies find better ways to communicate with their customers combined with his 25 years of high-tech business experience brings a fresh perspective to an old topic. He’s one of the early podcasters, having produced an audio storytelling podcast since 2005. He’s the author of the popular RonAmok! blog (http://ronamok.com), and is an active member of the social media community.
In 2007, he lead a $1.2 billion software company to adopt New Media technologies—writing the company’s Social Media policy, training over 70 employees, launching 8 blogs and creating a strategy to integrate the company’s online activities within its traditional communications practices.
In 2008, he founded OC New Media, LLC to help more executives understand the advantages of New Media communications. His favourite part of consulting is teaching clients how to monitor their online activities in order to show measurable results.
Ron is a sought-after public speaker, having presented before Fortune 50 companies, Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Ragan Communications Digital Impact Conference, Entrepreneur Magazine, Podcamp, the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
